Whether we're with our soulmate or not, even while living the Happy Ever After, life and coupledom can become stuck in a rut, try these fool proof steps to ensure yours gets out of the gutter and back on track.
Remember being young? It may sound silly, but what were your favourite hobbies as a young teenager? Rollerskating? Dancing? Surfing? Mountain biking? Who's to say you can't still do them now? Inject a little activity into your relationship, ask your partner what they used to enjoy, and before you know it with endorphins flowing, you'll soon be wondering why you ever gave it up in the first place!
What did you want to be when you grew up? Unless you've been extremely strict with yourself and stuck to the same route all through your life you probably aren't that person now. Did you want to be a doctor? Or a fireman? Or a policewoman? Well guess what? You can be! Have a trip to a fancy dress shop, play a little improvised drama with your loved one, and your aspirations as a child will reap rewards you never dreamed possible. (Not to mention the bonus package!)
Have some me time - Nothing cures boredom like pure self indulgence. A trip to the cinema alone, a shopping spree, or if the budget won't allow a chick flick on the TV whilst you paint your toenails and eat Bailey's Ice Cream. Time together doesn't have to be ALL of your time, and relationships benefit greatly when each has a little me time. You'll be texting him in no time asking him to return home for a snog as soon as your chick flick ends, and he'll be happy to obey!
Start something new - This could be a hobby, something you could bring into the home, cooking, gardening, knitting is even the choice for celebrities these days. He will reap the rewards of your new found passion and you'll enjoy being "her indoors" at least for a few hours a week!
Have a Date Night - It sounds so corny, and you probably think that sitting down in front of the TV constitutes as quality time together, but it doesn't. Sorry. Find a babysitter at 4pm. Spend hours getting ready as you used to. Turn the TV off, put some music on. Order in, light a candle, pop open some bubbly and talk. Even gossip about Joe Bloggs down the road, or moan a little about your boss, just chat and see where it leads you, who knows you may just end the night being exactly what you wanted to be when you grew up!
