It’s a term used loosely in today’s world, even children can be heard to mutter the phrase, “stressed out”, yet if stress isn’t nipped in the bud early enough it can have a huge impact on life and your enjoyment of it.
The main causes of stress are as follows;
Financial
In today’s economy more people are finding it harder to meet the everyday bills. If you see debt piling up don’t ignore it, sit down with your partner make a detailed list of your income and expenditure then work out a plan together.
Relationships
Arguments within relationships can make daily life so hard to endure, if your home life isn’t a happy one take a step back and figure out why. Picture your ideal situation, identify when things started to go wrong. If talking between you doesn’t help, try a relationship councillor so you can both have your say without being interrupted.
Life Changes
Moving house, having a baby, grief, divorce and starting a new job are all major stress factors, but they all have something in common too, they all get easier with time. Remind yourself that the baby won’t need such intensive care in a few months, the house move will soon be over, your grief will ease a little with time and you’ll soon settle into a new job. Although they can seem like mountains at the time, they will eventually turn into mole hills.
Work
You’ve made a mistake at work and have to see the boss? You have to hit a deadline and can’t seem to find the hours to honour it. Picture yourself in a few weeks’ time, this situation will be over by then and you will get through it.
Health
Our health above all else is the single most important factor of our lives. Stress can impact on our health, so if you are worried about something and have yet to see the doctor make the time to do so as by ignoring it you’re creating a snowball effect which will only damage yourself.
