The X Factor Winning Smile!
Every year as autumn looms I give into my guilty pleasure and settle down in front of a cosy log fire with popcorn and hot chocolate to watch the X factor auditions. There’s something appealing that draws me in and although I adore the top talent that is unearthed, I must admit I gain just as much pleasure from the auditions that can’t sing a note.
Yet one thing stands out to the crowd through all of this, and a regular theme has appeared. It seems I can’t sit through one audition without remarking on the state of the contestant’s teeth!
It’s rare that a singer auditions for the first time with a full set of pearly whites. Like the rest of us, they have lived life, enjoying coffee, red wine, maybe the odd cigarette, and when HD is honed in on their mouths as they sing, every stain is visible to the viewers at home.
It seems a shame that before the live auditions many have not given in to the wonderful benefits of teeth whitening kits, using at home in an economical endeavour to whiten their smile before being the subject of the fickle scrutiny of the public.
However, maybe they’ve realised from the previous series that once they secure a spot in boot camp, the teeth whitening kits will be paid for by the friendly people of ITV.
It’s become quite a game in our abode, as we assess the colour of their teeth from their first audition to the live shows. It seems as if by magic their teeth suddenly transform from a muted yellow to a bright white overnight.
This year is no exception, with contestants such as Janet Devlin, brought up in a remote Irish location with no houses for miles, her appearance, although obviously beautiful, was a far cry from the Hollywood ideal that began the fascination with the Hollywood smile. Yet now as she belts out her dulcet Irish tones, like a lullaby to our senses, her teeth sparkle as bright as her talent, and we can concentrate on her singing ability rather than feeling pity that the television is highlighting her superficial flaws.
There’s no denying her smile is radiant now, cute before, she now has the star quality with a mouth full of pearly whites, to let those notes reach the back of the stadium with ease, and as the shows go on, we’re placing bets that she’ll be the one to watch, however not because of her dental hygiene and use of teeth whitening kits, but because we can’t wait for her to sing Your Song by Elton John again and again and again!

Can Botox Cure Stinky Feet?
If you’ve ever been to the gym or chosen trainers as your summer footwear you’ll be familiar with smelly feet. Maybe the smelly feet don’t belong to you, but a partner, either way the stench is quite off-putting and can clear a room in seconds.
It also adds to self-confidence, if you’re worried about the smell of your feet, visiting a friend’s house can be excruciating. As soon as they ask you to take off your shoes to protect the shag pile, your heart sinks and you look for the nearest bathroom in a bid to wash them discreetly.
Stinky feet start with smelly feet and it is recognized medical conditions, with a tongue twister of a name Hyperhidrosis, people buy rapid cures in their bucket load only to find that they add a noxious cheap perfume smell to the putrid one that lingers, highlight the problem even more.
Now scientists have realized that Botox can cure the excessive sweating that leads to this infliction. The Botox uses the same methods as it does when Botox signals to your muscle nerve endings, the substance block the nerves that relay the information from the sweat glands telling them to perspire.
FDA approved since 2004 scientists and doctors have been using Botox as a cure for underarm sweating for nearly a decade, however, now they expand the usage seeing benefits in feet, hands and even the face.
Sweaty feet are more common than sweaty hands, because even though the hands have twice as many sweat glands, they’re usually exposed to air that dries the perspiration from our skin, whereas feet are confined into socks and then shoes giving the fresh moisture nowhere to escape too and thus becoming stale and unpleasant to the nose. It’s worth noting that it’s not actually the sweat that smells, but trapped inside your socks, bacteria multiply and feed off the moisture and this is what caused the stench.
The risk of side effects from having Botox in your feet are negligible, although the effects are temporary and you will have to return every four to six months, however, see a dermatologist first to determine whether it is just your favourite footwear causing the problem or it is indeed a case of hyperhidrosis.
Of course, if you have Botox in your feet the wrinkles will also go, giving you pretty little toes and making you feel as though you’re walking on air, so when having your next installment, book in for Botox for your face too, and see the results as well as feeling them.
